Maria has experience working as a counsellor/psychotherapist, and also as a non-counsellor, with people from a broad range of backgrounds and cultures in the corporate, academic/higher educational, psychiatric, and not-for-profit sector. She believes the foundation for a good therapeutic relationship is based on empathy and respect, and she relates to her clients in a non-judgmental, supportive, positive, and creative way. Maria works with individuals, is fluent in Swedish, and has an extensive interest in cultural diversity, transnational counselling, mental health and wellbeing, as well as reducing stigma around mental illness.

Maria uses a holistic foundation and person/client centred framework that enables her to develop a unique, creative, inclusive, and practical approach with each client. Maria is grateful to be working with people who are dedicated to understand, respond to, and learn from their past and present thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.

Maria understands that we all have stories that are important to acknowledge and share, reflect upon and learn from. As much as she truly believes we are all the experts of our own lives, we all sometimes need to share our stories with someone – “It’s my privilege to support people as they continue to write their own story!”
