I am a heart-centred and nature-inspired Counsellor and Arts Therapist who loves working with young people (8+ years) and adults. www.heartfulmindful.com.au

I use a combination of counselling (talk therapy) and the creative arts (arts therapy) to work with you as you inquire into what feels most significant - the emotions, the stuckness, the overwhelm, the life transition, the relationship issues, the wounds that hold us back from living our most wonderful life.

I have a special interest in offering therapeutic support to girls, women and people whose experiences align with those of girls and women.

People have consulted me with these kinds of concerns:
* experiencing childlessness (by circumstance or choice)
* contemplating, or going through the process, of applying to become parents through adoption, permanent care or foster care
* women and girls who are living powerful journeys which may be invisibilised, unrecognised or marginalised
* experiencing significant transitions in life
* living with chronic illness (such as me/cfs)
* people who care deeply for our world and feel called to take action or advocate for social justice issues (such as climate change, gender equity and animal rights)

I provide a safe and gentle space for you to journey into yourself (the bits that work really well and the bits that would love some support) in order to find preferred ways of being in yourself, in your relationships and in the world. I wholeheartedly believe in our ability to uncover our own truth and that this can happen more easily, and more enjoyably, when we do it in relationship with another. I provide that relationship for you - a safe and non-judgemental relationship in which you can safely inquire into your everyday experiences and your significant moments. These are where the healing happens. Sometimes it feels like magic and sometimes it feels like challenge… but it always shifts things and allows the light back in.

Incorporating the arts into therapy is very powerful. It allows us to express things beyond words, without words, in such a beautiful and soul-stirring way. We can inquire more deeply into ourselves and our lives - the opportunities for healing are exponential. When those magic moments of greater understanding happen they allow for the emergence of new knowings and choices. You do NOT need to be an artist to benefit from, or enjoy, arts therapy.

Additionally, the research that I am currently engaging in as part of my Doctorate in Therapeutic Arts Practice is all about the therapeutic benefits of nature. I believe that if we spend time reconnecting with nature, in the ways that resonate with us most strongly, it will help us to grow our resilience and enhance our overall physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. There is something very special about slowing down, being present and experiencing the world at Nature’s pace. This is something that we can also gently explore together.
