As a Counsellor with over 6 years of experience I provide support for adults experiencing mental health challenges, especially anxiety and depression. As a certified ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) Practitioner I provide both emotional and practical support for those diagnosed with ADHD and newly diagnosed. The impacts of ADHD on individuals can be huge, upsetting and challenging in work, personal and social life, in areas of planning, prioritising, and focussing; to name a few. I provide knowledge and understanding using a holistic approach to bring about awareness of how ADHD brains (neurodivergent) work compared to their neurotypical counterparts. The need for both emotional and practical support and guidance is very important in empowering these individuals in their present and future lives.
“it is all about how to work with your ADHD brain and not against it.”
My dedication and passion as a counsellor started with my own journey as a young adult, when I sought counselling assistance and support for personal mental health issues. I understand how it is being on that side, as ‘the client.’ Through my own journey as a young adult, I developed a great admiration and respect for Counsellors.
I provide a safe and relaxed space for my clients and myself, so we both feel comfortable. I work from a person centred and solution focussed approach with my clients, and use a range of modalities, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness techniques.
I look forward to hearing from you. I also offer a free 15-minute consult, which I regard as essential, so you can make an informed decision whether I am the right fit for you. Have a wonderful day!
