My name is Meir (pronounced “Mayer”) and I am very much a family man. I have spent my entire career working for organisations which provide both direct and indirect support to people in need of support. Although I have held many senior roles in large organisations, I recently decided that the time was right for me to exit the corporate and NFP sectors, to start my own private practice. I wanted to embrace the opportunity to provide my own self-directed personal style of support, as a qualified and accredited psychotherapist and counsellor.
My therapy is based on a person centred approach, which allows me to provide a space, where even the most personal, private and intimate issues can be safely explored and navigated. My aim is always to assist my clients to address their issues, find solutions and come to live happier and more meaningful lives.
I have extensive experience and training in supporting people experiencing whole-of-life issues, including anxiety, depression, grief and bereavement. I also specialise in couples and relationship therapy. A few years ago when I was a police chaplain, I co-authored a book about family violence and abuse, and I view this as a particular area of expertise in my practice.
My clients have reflected back to me that they have found me to be non-judgemental, approachable, personable and a good listener. Most importantly, that they feel safe to open up, share and work through their concerns and troubles with me.
