Narrative

I started my journey as a Medical Doctor, working as a GP for 12 years across 3 different continents. During this time I met many people from completely different cultures, religions and world views. I found that spent much of my time as a GP helping my patients with life stressors, trauma and mental health challenges. I personally felt a lot of satisfaction in helping my patients in this dimension. I also had my own personal experience of dealing with postnatal depression during which I found a consultation with a psychologist to be extremely helpful for me.

Inspired by all of this, I decided to take the leap and switch careers to focus on counselling. I have spent the last 6 years working for Lifeline, The Blue Knot Foundation and in private practice. As a counsellor I have a lot of experience helping people struggling with suicidal thoughts and impulses, conducting risk assessments as escalating matters to other agencies when required. I also work with my clients in a mid to long term capacity to help them overcome their challenges and struggles.

I have a particular focus of helping people work through trauma, work related issues, work loss issues, anxiety, depression, risk assessments and suicide management.

I’d be happy to have a free 10 min chat by phone if you’d like to have an initial chat to see what our dynamic is like before moving ahead and booking a paid session with me.
