I am passionate about walking beside others as they navigate their way through tough moments. In an empathic, non judgmental and understanding environment, I listen and provide you the space where we can explore your steps toward your goals.
A bit about me, I studied in Australia and abroad in South Africa where I continued my education in counselling and psychology. I am currently a student in Master of Professional Psychology and look forward to general registration as a psychologist to add to my love of counselling and psychotherapy. I love to explore outdoors, run, read and be a lifelong learner.
In therapy, I lean toward a person-centered as well as a cognitive behavioural approach. This means I believe that there is a wealth of resources inside of you. By looking at our thoughts, feelings and behaviours, we can understand how they are interlinked, and also incorporate tools and strategies to achieve helpful responses that work for us rather then against us. I often work with young adults through to older individuals, believing it is a privilege to get to know you, even through often difficult transitional times. Through compassion and understanding, I hope to see you reaching your hopes and dreams.
I believe showing radical acceptance in a non-judgmental space creates an environment that promotes change and wellness. This approach focuses on the integration of all areas of life, including job fulfillment, relationships, spirituality, mindfulness, emotional regulation, and coping skills, recognizing strengths and weaknesses, and development to walk through life so you can thrive and not just survive.
